DIANA

Toronto’s breezy synth-pop clothing DIANA began like a cooperation between drummer Kieran Adams and saxophonist Joseph Shabason, fixtures from the city’s music picture who met while studying jazz in the College or university of Toronto (later, they used functions including Warm Misconception and Destroyer, respectively). Having created an album’s well worth of demos throughout a working visit to the Canadian countryside, the set recruited vocalist Carmen Elle, previously of Spiral Seaside and Army Women, to give some sweeter vocals towards the task. The group completed documenting in July 2012, and after publishing some tracks to SoundCloud, authorized to Jagjaguwar Information. DIANA added another of Adams and Shabason’s U of T classmates (and Hidden Cams alumnus), Paul Mathew, towards the collapse before their debut, Perpetual Surrender, found its way to August 2013. 3 years later on, the group (minus Mathew) came back with second recording Familiar Touch, including singles “Confession” and “Sliding Away.”
