Diamond D

Veteran hip-hop producer Gemstone D has helped away with many of rap music’s most acclaimed LPs, including A Tribe Called Quest’s THE REDUCED End Theory as well as the Fugees’ The Rating. In 1992, he documented his first single record, the underground traditional Stunts, Blunts & Hip-Hop (that was released as by Gemstone & the Psychotic Neurotics). Though it hardly ever sold lots of copies, it elevated his position, and he caused Illegal, Home of Discomfort, KRS-One, as well as the Pharcyde through the mid-’90s. A bunch of top-flight rappers came back the favour for his sophomore record, Hatred, Interest & Infidelity, including Busta Rhymes, Phife Dawg (A Tribe Known as Goal), and Pete Rock and roll.
