Dharmas

From Hastings, Sussex, Britain, this briefly celebrated indie rock and roll clothing comprised main songwriter Simon Steadman (vocals/guitar), Ellie Wyatt (violin/vocals), Russell Field (drums), Dave Walton (bass), Chris Murphy (b. Nashville, Tennessee, USA; keyboards) and Dominic Minns (percussion/vocals). After starting to create his own tracks at age 15, Steadman shaped his first music group, called the Dharma Bums, after shifting from London to Hastings, where he went to university. The nucleus from the music group was produced from the neighborhood music artists’ community, and with the name shortened to Dharmas they started touring the united kingdom, including a headlining appearance on the Avlon Stage on the Glastonbury Celebration. There these were discovered by Rhythm Ruler Records who ultimately signed the music group in Apr 1995. They released their debut one, ‘Runaway’, in August 1995, which reached # 7 7 in the Unbiased chart. The next, ‘3 Miles Great’, implemented in the summertime of 1996, but a significant label recording agreement proceeded to go sour and derailed the music group’s promising profession. Steadman, Wyatt, Walton and Field continued playing jointly in Steadman.
