Vocalist, composer, and oud participant Dhafer Youssef was created in 1967 in Teboulba, Tunisia. The oud can be an Arabic lute, a string device that can accomplish a lovely sound from those that learn how to expert it. Youssef started performing when he was just five-years-old. Since that time he provides performed for viewers in Tunisia, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, and various other countries. He provides appeared along with his very own ensembles and documented two albums with them, one in 1993 as well as the other 3 years afterwards. Youssef’s music combines Sufi custom, globe, mystical, and jazz affects with Arabic lyricism. In 1999, Enja Information released Youssef’s third recording, Malak, which include the tracks “Some sort of Like,” “Tarannoum,” and “Eklil.” Youssef offered vocals and oud for the recording and was followed by such well-known performers as violinist Zoltan Lantos, bassist Achim Tang, tabla and dolak participant Jatinder Thakur, tambourine participant Carlo Rizzo, bassist Renaud Garcia-Fons, and drummer Patrice Héral. In 2002, Youssef released Electric powered Sufi on Enja and added digital components and funky grooves to his genre-bending audio.
