Dewey Defeats Truman

Going for a stab on the media and its own propensity to distort reality, NORTH PARK indie rockers Dewey Defeats Truman produced their group the namesake from the famous Chicago Tribune headline. After their prior band, Crimson Dye No. 5, split up, Adam Audience (bass, vocals), and drummer Scott Frazier became a member of Tag MacBride (electric guitar, vocals) in 1997. Frustrated with too little places for an unbiased band to try out within a mainstream town, the band started scheduling road travels around their time careers. In 2000, Dewey Defeats Truman gathered the very best of recordings completed over 3 years and, using its wry love of life, released its debut record, B-sides, Rarities and Out-Takes with the tiny NORTH PARK label, Silver Female Records. Even though the album contained just legit recordings, the gag do focus on some people from the band’s favorite focus on — the mass media.
