Devotos

From an exceptionally poor environment, the Recife borough Alto José do Pinho, the Devotos initial appeared as Devotos do Ódio. Building their very own musical instruments from scrap steel, the group performed in little community locations. Their sound is certainly referred to by them as “punk rock and roll hardcore.” In Sept 1993 the group earned the first place within the Recife Rock and roll Show. Within the next season, they participated in the next edition from the Celebration Abril Pro Rock and roll and in its all following editions. In 1996, Chico Technology e Nação Zumbi asked the Devotos to open up the displays of the next recording, Afrociberdelia, in São Paulo. For the reason that 12 months, the video “Punk Rock and roll Hardcore Alto José perform Pinho” was nominated for the MTV Video Music Brasil. The very first recording, Agora Tá Valendo, arrived in 1997, after BMG Ariola became thinking about their use their demonstration at that year’s release from the Abril Pro Rock and roll fest. The recording was promoted inside a tour which started in 1998’s Abril Pro Rock and roll fest, following displays in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Brasília, Salvador, and Belo Horizonte. The music group also performed in the Compact disc Expo in Rio de Janeiro.
