Devonté Hynes

A shape-shifting, multifaceted singer/songwriter, composer, acting professional, author, and maker, Houston, Texas-born and London, England-raised polymath Devonté Hynes has recorded under his personal name and with the combustible chillwave clothing Test Icicles, aswell as beneath the pseudonyms Bloodstream Orange (atmospheric and cinematic electro-R&B) and Lightspeed Champ (rootsy, psych-tinged fantasy pop). Hynes in addition has written tracks for performers as different as Florence + the device, Theophilus London, and Solange Knowles; offered as a style advisor for Jay-Z’s Rocawear; and collaborated with Nedelle Torrisi, Sky Ferreira, Foals, and Britney Spears. In 2013 Hynes supplied the original rating for movie director Gia Coppola’s evocative coming-of-age film Palo Alto.
