Dettinger

Olaf Dettinger is among the top-shelf producers around the Cologne, Germany-based Kompakt roster. Frequently bathing his ambient songs in analog synths and lush atmospherics, he’s similarly capable of producing comforting bliss and discomforting paranoia. With 1999’s Intershop, Dettinger became the 1st artist release a a single-artist LP on Kompakt, which adopted a set of 12″ singles released in 1998 and previously in 1999 (Blond and Puma). 2000 noticed the release from the Totentanz 12″ and his second LP, Oasis; furthermore, his profile grew up by showing up on Mille Plateaux’s all-things-glitch Clicks + Slashes compilation. In June of 2001, Dettinger performed alongside Jonas Bering, Closer Musick, and Tobias Thomas (who presented a Dettinger monitor on his Kompakt blend Hair Dich) as ambassadors of Kompakt in the Mutek Event in Montreal, Quebec. The maker has contributed solid songs for Pop Ambient 2001 as well as the 1st three Total compilations on Kompakt.
