Detonation

Although they hail from holland (where they initial formed in 1997, in the city Zeist), Detonation perform melodic loss of life metal within the vein of Swedish functions like Dark Tranquility and In Flames. Featuring vocalist and guitarist Koen Romeijn, guitarist Mike Ferguson, bassist Otto Schimmelpenninck, and drummer Thomas Kalksma, the group financed both 1998’s Crushed Skull and 1999’s Shed Euphoria EPs themselves before ultimately starting up with France’s Osmose Productions for a set of albums, 2003’s An Epic Defiance and 2005’s Sites to Uphobia.
