Derek Webb

Although he computes from the thematically conservative contemporary Christian pop genre, singer/songwriter and guitarist Derek Webb comes with an agitator’s soul and a flair for the controversial, approaches he uses in his music to force careful thought on quite crucial issues. Born on, may 27, 1974, in Memphis, TN, Webb went to senior high school in Tx, and was among the founding associates from the Houston-based Christian pop group Caedmon’s Contact when they produced in 1993, and he continued to be using the group through many albums before departing to go single in 2003. His initial solo task, She Must and Shall Move Free of charge, released that same season, confirmed Webb’s refreshingly maverick and uncompromising method of Christian music, as well as the record drew a whole lot of important interest, both pro and con. A sophomore work, I See Factors Upside Down, implemented in 2004, plus a live record, The House Display.
