Put two of England’s funniest men collectively, give them full freedom to joke about any subject matter, even though it crosses into X-rated territory, and you also have some notion of the wacky, anything-goes humor of Derek & Clive. Representing the alter egos of previous Beyond the Fringe people Dudley “Derek” Moore and Peter “Clive” Make. Inspiring one another inside a stream-of-consciousness frenzy, both funnymen make a mixture of comic routines and off-the-wall musical parodies, made up by Moore, including such foul-mouthed ditties as “You Stupid C**t!,” “Valerie’s Hymen,” “Tumor,” “Superstar Suicide,” and “I CANNOT Shit.” Shaped within the middle-’70s, Derek & Clive made an appearance within the Broadway display Great Evening in 1976. During NY, they documented an album before an invited viewers at Electric powered Ladyland studios. In conjunction with paths recorded throughout a 1973 efficiency at NY music club underneath Line, the recording, Live, premiered in past due 1976. Switching towards the Virgin label in 1977, the duo released two extra albums — Arrive Again and Advertisement Nauseum — before separating in 1978. Pursuing Derek & Clive’s separation, Moore continued to become major celeb, showing up in such movies as 10, in 1979, and Arthur, in 1981. He passed away, at age 66, in 2002.
