Deportees

A Swedish indie rock quartet using a penchant for pairing soulful and occasionally cool cinematic pop with rootsy, American heartland-inspired nation folk-rock, Deportees shaped in 2003 round the skills of brothers Peder (vocals) and Anders Stenberg (guitar), and Thomas Hedlund (drummer) and Mattias Lidström (keyboard). Located in Umeå, the music group released their genre-hopping debut recording, All Prayed Up, in 2004, which got a set of Swedish Grammy nominations. Their 2006 sophomore outing, Broken Goods, dialed back again around the quirky funk that offered as the building blocks for his or her debut, and launched components of outlaw nation into their currently eclectic audio. While on tour, the music group struck up a camaraderie with French indie pop device Phoenix, who enlisted drummer Hedlund to divide his time taken between the two rings, while guitarist Stenberg partnered up with Lykke Li. In ’09 2009, the group released their third studio room long participant, the critically acclaimed and politically billed Beneath the Pavement: The Seaside, which yielded a major-label bidding battle. Islands & Shores, the band’s 4th outing and initial for Universal, implemented in 2011. The record went precious metal and gained the group their initial Grammy win, aswell as the Country wide Public Radio award for Music group of the entire year. In 2015, Deportees released LP amount five, THE BEST Sleep.
