A talented trumpeter that has recorded a consistently rewarding string of lesser-known schedules, Dennis Gonzalez’s using falls between advanced hard bop and free of charge jazz. He transferred to Dallas in 1977 and began the DAAGNIM label, that he recorded often with top regional players. Beginning in 1986, Gonzalez also produced several schedules for the Silkheart label (making use of Charles Brackeen using one program) and Konnex.
