Denise Sullivan

Denise Sullivan’s rock and roll & roll preferences were shaped by the air: the noises of Best 40 from your past due ’60s, free-form FM from your ’70s, and the faculty radio explosion in the first ’80s. She started her career like a journalist in the ’70s when she fulfilled an associate of her then-favorite rock and roll group, Fleetwood Mac pc, while on holiday with her family members, and wrote about any of it for her senior high school newspapers. After a four-year airshift on KUSF in the University or college of SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, she detoured toward the record market — doing work for an indie and a significant — and possessed a little retail record shop. She resumed composing full-time in 1991 and discovers joy in finding new and aged records. Since that time, she’s interviewed countless big and little legends of rock and roll, folk, and punk from Ray Davies, Ike Turner, and Elvis Costello to Charlie Louvin and Shonen Blade. She lives in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and functions as a columnist for the Contra Costa Occasions. She is the writer of R.E.M.: DISCUSS the Enthusiasm, released in its second release for Da Capo Press in 1998. She enjoys espresso, anything Beatles, Neil Young’s music, and Martin Scorsese’s photos.
