Denise James is a voice around the Detroit picture for quite some time. She has offered backing vocals for several Motor City centered organizations, including one lineup of multi-instrumentalist/maker Warn Defever’s rock and roll/digital fusion His Name Is usually Alive, as well as the even more rock-oriented HNIA off-shoot the Dirt Eaters. Her 1st self-titled solo recording was made by Matthew Smith of Outrageous Cherry/the Volebeats, and released on Alan McGee’s Poptones label in August 2001.
