Demoniac

Demoniac originated being a dark steel music group in New Zealand, circa 1993, but carrying out a couple of demos (“The Delivery of Diabolical Bloodstream” and “Moonblood”) as well as the release of the first album, Plan War, the next calendar year, vocalist Behemoth (true name Lindsay Dawson), guitarist Heimdall (Sam Totman), and drummer Adramolech relocated to London, Britain, where they proceeded to reinvent the group under a far more melodic state of mind. 1996’s Stormblade initiated this change using its heroic power steel experiments, though specific dark metallic hallmarks like scratchy vocals still lingered. However the ensuing The Open fire and the Blowing wind (1999), also offering lead acoustic guitar wunderkind Herman Li, bassist Diccon Harper, and Slovenian-born drummer Matej Sentic demonstrated an altogether exclusive and quite triumphant amalgam of both subgenres. Unfortunately, Demoniac wouldn’t normally live to find out another recording, as Totman and Li made a decision to launch a whole new band known as Dragonforce, completely dedicating themselves to history and power metallic.
