Demander

Founded by vocalist/bassist Karen Kanan Corrêa and drummer Sivan Harlap — both former members from the Hissyfits — Demander traffics in the same indie rock and roll group as Sleater-Kinney as well as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The group required shape in NEW YORK in 2005, with guitarist Jared Scott rounding out the co-ed lineup. After liberating a self-titled EP, Demander improved its general public profile by touring alongside rings like the Keep Steady, Morningwood, as well as the Giraffes. The group briefly retired to Brooklyn to record a debut LP, The Unkindness of Ravens, that was released in limited amounts in 2007. A large-scale launch followed twelve months later on, and Demander spent the 1st fifty percent of 2009 documenting a second recording, Long term Brite, which eventually appeared this year 2010.
