Delta Saxophone Quartet

Shaped in 1984 at London’s Guildhall Classes of Music by pupils of Stephen Trier, the group’s original personnel comprised saxophonists Chris Caldwell, Steve Cottrell, Colin Smith and Pete Whyman. The group set up a popularity for executing music by way of a wide variety of complicated composers, including Louis Andriessen, Issie Barratt, Richard Rodney Bennett, Gavin Bryars, Joe Duddell, Paul Englishby, Sergio Lopez Figueroa, Morgan Fisher, Philip Cup, Stephen Goss, Michael Nyman, Steve Reich, Terry Riley and Mike Westbrook, in addition to performing music connected with Soft Machine. The Delta Saxophone Quartet provides toured extensively in the united kingdom and in addition has appeared abroad, including trips to Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, China, Taiwan, Russia and Uzbekistan. In the first 00s the group was Outfit in Home at London’s Kingston College or university. Changes in employees earned Gareth Brady and Christian Forshaw within the middle-00s the quartet still included Caldwell and Whyman and was finished by Graeme Blevins and Tim Holmes.
