Delma Lachney

A Louisiana fiddler with family members ties to France Canada, Delma Lachney recorded many edges for Vocalion through the later ’20s. She was sometimes followed on record and billing by Alcide “Blind Uncle” Gaspard on electric guitar, though she hardly ever made an appearance on his edges (also those documented at the same periods). Small else is well known about her, also after her melody “La Danseuse” was put together on the favorite Anthology of American Folk Music collection, and a complete of ten music show up on the Yazoo compilation Early American Cajun Music.
