Delfeayo Marsalis

Trombonist, composer, and maker Delfeayo Marsalis is an extremely regarded jazz performer and an associate from the famed Marsalis family members. Created in New Orleans in 1965 to esteemed jazz pianist and teacher Ellis Louis Marsalis, Jr., Marsalis was raised together with his five siblings including saxophonist Branford Marsalis, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, and youthful sibling drummer Jason Marsalis. Thinking about music from a age, he originally began on bass and drums before buying the trombone in 6th grade. As an adolescent, he attended the brand new Orleans Middle for Innovative Arts, the Eastern Music Celebration, as well as the Tanglewood Institute, where time he examined traditional music and jazz. After senior high school, he majored in both functionality and audio creation on the Berklee University of Music. As a single musician, he debuted in 1992 using the Biblically motivated Pontius Pilate’s Decision. He came back with Musashi in 1997, accompanied by the Elvin Jones tribute record Minions Dominion in 2006. Special Thunder, a reworking of Duke Ellington’s collection incorporating Shakespearean designs and characters, made an appearance this year 2010. In 2014, Marsalis matched with his dad, Ellis, for the urbane, standards-heavy THE FINAL Southern Gentlemen. 2 yrs later, he shipped the politically minded Make America Great Once again!, which showcased the debut of his huge outfit the Uptown Jazz Orchestra.
