b. 21 Sept 1910, Oakland, California, USA, d. 11 Feb 2006, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Beneath the suitable heading ‘The Aged Smoothie’, Del Courtney’s dance music group were a favorite attraction at resorts throughout America in the pre and post-war period. Produced in 1933 in California, their initial booking came on the Claremont Resort in Berkeley. Courtney acquired formerly performed alongside Al Hill, and utilized three different feminine vocalists; Dotty Dotson, Judith Blair and Gil Vester, to augment his highly intimate compositions.
