Deep Blue Organ Trio

The Deep Blue Body organ Trio began officially performing under that moniker in 2000, despite the fact that Hammond B-3 organist Chris Foreman, drummer Greg Rockingham, and guitarist Bobby Broom had known one another because the ’80s, playing clubs around their hometown of Chicago. Regularly crossing each others’ pathways, they ultimately gigged throughout the Windy Town as a device, while individually, burning jazz and blues legends including Hank Crawford, Albert Collins, Nat Adderley, Kenny Burrell, Charles Earland, Sonny Rollins, Mls Davis, Artwork Blakey, Stanley Turrentine, and Kenny Burrell. By 2001 the trio effectively begun to assert their musical objective of getting the jazz body organ trio format in to the brand-new millennium. Steeped not merely in body organ jazz, the trio mixes funk, spirit, R&B, gospel, and spirituals in to the collective combine. The Deep Blue Body organ Trio released their initial record on Delmark, Deep Blue Bruise in 2004. The follow-up, Going to City: Live on the Green Mill was documented live throughout their every week Tuesday evenings at Chicago’s Green Mill Lounge, their regular gig since 2003. A Dvd movie of the present premiered in tandem using the CD.
