Debroy Somers

Multi-instrumentalist and bandleader William Henry Somers was created in Dublin, Ireland, about Apr 11, 1890. The child of a music group sergeant within the First Gloucestershire Regiment, he discovered music on the Chelsea Armed forces Academy and examined piano with Michele Esposito on the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 1904. Somers transferred to London in 1910; the next calendar year he enlisted within the Royal Irish Rifles, Second Battalion, and customized in the oboe on the Royal Armed forces College of Music. Using a crest of recognition, the band strike the road for any nationwide tour (as Debroy Somers & His Orchestra) and resolved into a design of regular looks in the Alhambra as well as the London Coliseum. In Apr 1926 Somers remaining the Orpheans to focus on composing arrangements. By the start of 1927 he was leading his personal dance music group under his personal name, and experienced permanently crossed to turn into a Columbia documenting designer.
