Deborah Conway

Produced in 1982, Perform Re Mi exploded onto the Australian music scene in 1985 making use of their one “Guy Overboard.” In 1988, after two albums and many strike singles, the group disbanded. Following demise of Perform Re Mi, business lead vocalist Deborah Conway embarked on an effective single career. Launching her debut single record in 1991, Conway instantly obtained herself some interest as a single vocalist. String of Pearls was an record that ranged from acoustic pop to rock and roll and generated three strike singles: “It’s Just the start,” “Discharge Me” and “Under My Epidermis.” Coming back in 1993, Conway released Bitch Epic. This is a more rock and roll record than its forerunner and created two singles (“Alive and Outstanding” and “Today I’m a Daisy”) but had not been as well-known as String of Pearls. Ultrasound made an appearance in 1995. Even more of an organization work, half the album was instrumental parts and acquired an experimental experience to it. Probably as a result of this it was not really well received and marketed badly. Conway’s third single album correct My Third Hubby premiered in 1997 to poor testimonials. Featuring examples and loops similar to Portishead the record was accused to be derivative and for that reason did not succeed. It did, nevertheless, produce one minimal one in “Just the Bone fragments (Will Display)”
