Dead Rock West

Led by vocalist Cindy Wasserman and singer and guitarist Frank Lee Drennen, Deceased Rock West focuses on some sort of jangly western coast alt country that tones into pop and punk territory sometimes, a bit just like a smart cross between your Gram Parsons version from the Byrds and L.A.’s X. Shaped in 2002, the music group, which also contains multi-instrumentalist Phil Parlapiano (mandolin, body organ), drummer Bryan Mind, and bassist David J. Carpenter, includes a lengthy pedigree attracted from the Southern California rock and roll and roots picture, and individual people have performed in a complete host of rings in a variety of configurations, like the Hatchet Brothers, the Stressed Sleepers, Abandoned Private pools, the Brothers Figaro, and Loam, a music group that still matters Drennen as an integral member. Wasserman provides toured with Offer Lee Phillips, while Parlapiano provides performed with Offer Lee Buffalo, Tracy Chapman, Lucinda Williams, Fishing rod Stewart, and Public Distortion, amongst others. It’s a whole lot of proved talent, and Deceased Rock West produced full usage of it because of their debut record, Honey and Sodium, which was documented old-school to 2″ tape and blended by Grammy champion Richard Dodd. Eclectic and mixed, but generally in sort of the Traveling Burrito Brothers-meet-X- with-good-production sort of method, and filled with beautiful vocal harmonies from Drennen and Wasserman, the record generated a good quantity of great press when it had been released by Populuxe Information in 2007.
