The Belgium quintet Deceased Guy Ray possess a fascinating and original style, that appears like a cross between a barfly take of Jeff Buckley’s more contemplative occasions and of a film noir soundtrack. From the city of Antwerp, Deceased Guy Ray was created during 1997 by Elko Blijweert (acoustic guitar, ex-Front 242), Daan Stuyven (acoustic guitar), Rudy Trouvé (acoustic guitar; ex-dEUS), and Herman Houbrechts (drums). The music group released their self-produced 1998 debut, Bercherm, via Trouvé’s label, HeavenHotel. The effect was 2002’s Cago, an excellent album recorded completely live.
