Fundamentally the solo vehicle for singer/songwriter Jackson Phillips, Oakland, California’s Time Wave make atmospheric, ’80s-influenced synth- and guitar-based pop. Half from the likewise inclined digital duo Carousel, Phillips is well known for his yearning, frequently melancholic music that combine the immediacy of lo-fi bedroom productions using the sonically blurred colorations of ambient and sound pop. Phillips released Time Wave’s debut EP, GET BACK Today, in 2015. In 2016, he came back with Time Wave’s second EP, Headcase, offering the music “Eliminated” and “Stuck.” His music racked up large numbers on several streaming platforms, resulting in curiosity from record brands. He agreed upon to Harvest Information and in early 2017 released his debut record. Made by Phillips and Tag Rankin (Bloc Party, Adele), the record had taken Time Wave’s bedroom pop audio and extended it for wider pop charm.
