A warm, baritone vocal tone and poetic lyricism are coupled with a unique electric guitar design that blends soft jazz and folk sensibilities and a romantic stage persona simply by singer/songwriter David Wilcox. Frequently compared to Adam Taylor and John Martyn, Wilcox has generated a solid group of fans for his well-crafted folk-pop music. Cleveland-born Wilcox was motivated to play electric guitar after viewing a fellow pupil play within a stairwell at Antioch University in Yellow Springs, OH. Moving to Warren Wilson University in Asheville, NC, in 1981, Wilcox started taking music significantly. Although he got four lessons using a traditional guitarist, Wilcox created the majority of his playing technique by himself.
