David Nelson McCarthy

From an early on age, David McCarthy sang within a church choir and played guitar. He received a bachelor’s level in music in the School of Michigan; examined jazz and improvisational music; trained electric guitar; and, in 1980, went to the Naropa Institute in Boulder, CO, learning with primary faculty Costs Douglas and Jerry Granelli and acquiring workshops with Charlie Haden, John Abercrombie, and Oregon (including traditional electric guitar with Ralph Towner). In 1981, he offered as teaching associate to the top from the Naropa Music Section and played skillfully from 1983 to 1989. He examined mainstream jazz in NEW YORK with Renard Hoover and Jack port Wilkins and it is cofounder from the avant-garde music group Mosaic Art Outfit (1983) and chamber jazz ensemble Soundworks (1987).
