David “Hawk” Wolinski

Keyboardist/songwriter/manufacturer David “Hawk” Wolinski initial came to popularity as an associate of rock and roll/R&B/pop music group Rufus. The Chicago indigenous wrote their number 1 R&B strike “Aint No one” and co-wrote their various other strikes “Hollywood” and “Everlasting Like.” Wolinski also composed/and or created strikes for Stephanie Mills (“The Medication Tune”), Jeffrey Osborne (“Airplane Appreciate”), and Glenn Jones (“Givin’ Myself for you”). Before Rufus, Wolinski caused fellow Chicagoan, vocalist Minnie Riperton. While composing in his documenting studio, Wolinski developed the song proven fact that would become “Aint No one.” Quincy Jones was thinking about the tune for addition on Michael Jackson’s Thriller LP. But Wolinski acquired already guaranteed the tune to Rufus’ manufacturer Russ Titelman. Included on the group’s Warner Bros. debut record Live-Stompin’ on the Savoy, “Aint No one” b/w a live edition of the 1976 strike “Special Thing” visited number 1 R&B in fall 1983. The achievement of “Aint No one” produced Wolinski an in-demand songwriter/manufacturer. He contributed many tracks towards the soundtrack from the 1986 Goldie Hawn senior high school soccer movie Wildcats released on Warner Bros. For Rufus & Chaka Khan he co-wrote the sensual ballad “Everlasting Like” — never to become puzzled with the same-named strike covered individually by Robert Knight/Carl Carlton/Rex Smith — with music group member Kevin Murphy and something period Rufus member, bassist Dennis Belfield (“Smokin’ Space,” the turn part of Rufus’ platinum single “Inform Me Something Great,” a favorite radio-aired LP monitor along with a 1975 strike for Carl Carlton), which visited quantity 17 R&B in summer time 1977. The Wolinski track was included in jazz saxophonist J. Spencer on his Chimera recording. Wolinski co-wrote another Rufus strike, “Hollywood,” with group member Andre Fischer that peaked at number 3 R&B in springtime 1977; with Daniel Seraphine, he co-wrote the name tabs on Rufus’ platinum LP Street Participant. With vocalist Jeffrey Osborne, Wolinski co-wrote “Aircraft Love,” quantity ten R&B, for Osborne’s 1983 platinum A&M LP STICK WITH Me Tonight and “COULD IT BE Best” for his platinum 1984 A&M LP Don’t Quit. For Stephanie Mills, he published “The Medicine Track.” Also on her behalf 1984 Casablanca LP I’ve Got the Remedy was “Tough Trade” (Wolinski/Keithen Carter/Pat Leonard). For the Amuzement Recreation area Music group led by Paul Richmond, he created their second recording, All Factors Bulletin, released by Atlantic Information around March 1984, which yielded the solitary “No.” Wolinski created Glenn Jones’ “Providing Myself for you” in summer time 1986 from his RCA record Consider It From Me, and co-produced both self-titled 1987 Virgin Information LP of U.K. duo Large numbers Like Us as well as the Neville Brothers’ 1992 A&M LP Family members Groove.
