David Ganc

One of the better flutists/saxophonists in Brazil, David Ganc offers recorded more than 80 albums of both vocal and instrumental music, having performed and recorded for performers like Stevie Question, Luís Melodia, Elba Ramalho, Victor Mendonza, Olívia Byington, Gal Costa, Moraes Moreira, Simone, Alcione, Caetano Veloso, Emílio Santiago, João Bosco, Nelson Gonçalves, Tim Maia, and various other performers. An ex-member from the extinct but important A Barca perform Sol, he toured European countries along with his Quarteto Samambaia in 1984. He also followed Luís Melodia in his tour through European countries in 1987 and Elba Ramalho through Mexico as well as the U.S. He was contained in the collection Modern Instrumental Music From Brazil (Windham Hill Information, 1993), in duo with Nando Carneiro. Ganc was a sideman for Stevie Question in his four shows in 1995 on the Tenth Free of charge Jazz Festival. Being a saxophonist, he provides performed using the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira as well as the Orquestra Sinfônica de Brasília. He also was contained in the compilation Sopro Contemporâneo Brasileiro (Visom Digital, 1994), an array of among the better wind flow instrumentalists in Brazil. He provides performed and documented for movie theater musicals (Pixinguinha by Amir Haddad, Noel Rosa by Tim Rescala, and O Corsário perform Rei by Augusto Boal/Chico Buarque, amongst others), movie theater soundtracks (O Homem da Capa Preta by David Tygel and Dança dos Bonecos by Nivaldo Ornelas), Television, and dance displays. He released his 1st solo Compact disc, Baladas Brasileiras, in 1996 through Leblon Documents. The same recording premiered in Europe from the French organization Buda Musique, who distributes it world-wide.
