David Berkman Quartet

b. Cleveland, Ohio, USA. Berkman started playing piano while still at college, taking a pastime in jazz due to parental prompting. He later on studied in the Berklee University Of Music with the College or university of Michigan. Following this, he gigged around his city for some time and, in 1985, he relocated to NEW YORK. There, he was mentioned for his are pianist in rings led by Tom Harrell, Cecil McBee among others, and he was also an associate of the home band in the Town Vanguard. Among many performers with whom he spent some time working, either as pianist or arranger or both, are trumpeter Scott Wendholt, saxophonists Joe Lovano, Billy Drewes and Vincent Herring, Lisa Michel and Dakota Staton.
