Dave Thompson continues to be playing blues acoustic guitar since age 9, using the encouragement and help of his musician dad. A indigenous of Mississippi, Thompson was playing in support bands for regional acts just like the Greenville Letts by his early teenagers. Golf club owner and fellow bluesman Booba Barnes installed with Thompson when the second option was 15, and both produced the rounds on Mississippi’s sometimes-violent golf club circuit. Thompson’s 1st appearance on record was on David Malone’s debut recording for Body fat Possum Information. (Malone may be the child of bluesman Junior Kimbrough.) This gig offered Thompson a springboard for his personal solo project, Small Dave and Big Like, that was released in 1995 and showcases Thompson’s fiery playing.
