Dave Pegg

Along with his distinctively melodic method of the electric bass, Dave Pegg continues to be equally successful playing British folk-rock and modern rock and roll. An associate of Fairport Convention since 1969, Pegg concurrently documented and toured with Jethro Tull from 1979 until 1995. Regarding his wife, Christine, he’s maintained the Woodworm record label and arranged Fairport’s annual celebration in Cropedy, Britain. The grandson of the banjo player as well as the son of the vocalist, Pegg trained himself to try out your guitar. Although he proved helpful within an insurance workplace for the calendar year, he was more and more drawn to a profession in music. After playing business lead electric guitar in Roy Everett’s Blueshounds, he turned towards the bass and became a member of a pop music group, the Uglys. An evergrowing fascination with folk music climaxed with Pegg signing up for Ian Campbell’s Folk Group as an acoustic bass and mandolin participant. Among England’s greatest folk bands from the early-1960s, Ian’s Campbell’s Folk Group supplied Pegg with an opportunity to learn the abilities that he taken to the more-electric Fairport Convention. Peggmoved in to the rock and roll area when he recognized an invitation to displace a departing John Glascock as bassist for Jethro Tull. Pegg continued to be using the group for fifteen years. His bass playing was highlighted for the band’s albums, Broadsworth, Under Wraps, Crest OF THE Knave, Rock Isle, Catfish Rising, Root base To Branches and, with Fairport band-mate Dave Mattacks on drums, JUST A LITTLE Light Music. Devoting his full-time focus on Fairport Convention, in 1995,Peggwas changed, in Jethro Tull, by Jonathan Noyce.
