Dave Lee

b. 12 August 1926, London, Britain. After earning a Melody Machine poll for his jazz piano playing while still in his mid-teens, Lee became a member of John Dankworth’s music group, later earning another poll within the same mag. In the mid-50s and through the entire 60s, Lee was dynamic in jazz, the musical theater, television and movies, contributing scores for many well-known movies. In the first 80s Lee was sufficiently energetic on the jazz picture to become elected BBC Jazz Culture Musician of the entire year, but started to program a ‘jazz-only’ radio place which, without unusual in america, was unusual in the united kingdom. Against the chances and all targets, Lee was effective, and in 1990, Jazz FM was in the surroundings. Broadcasting to the higher London region, Jazz FM produced a significant contribution towards the expectations and dreams of jazz music artists and broadcasters until economic pressures forced plan and other adjustments, and Lee shifted to other projects.
