A participant on some essential dixieland-oriented recordings although under no circumstances a significant name himself, Dave Bowman was a good and swinging pianist. He was created to Canadian parents who elevated him in Hamilton, Ontario. Bowman began on piano when he was four. After their studies at the Pittsburgh Music Institute, he performed appropriately in Canada with Ken Steele (1933-36) and worked well in European countries with Jack port Hylton’s Orchestra. Time for NY, Bowman was with Sharkey Bonano, Bobby Hackett (1937-39), Bud Freeman’s Summa Cum Laude Orchestra (1939-40), Jack port Teagarden’s Big Music group, Joe Marsala, Muggsy Spanier (1941-42) and Eddie Condon before worked well as a studio room musician at ABC and NBC.. Down the road Bowman was back again with Bud Freeman (1954-55) and settled completely in Florida where he freelanced including with Phil Napoleon in 1964. He passed away in a vehicle accident in 1964 while traveling house from a gig. Dave Bowman, who 1st documented in 1938 with Bobby Hackett and Sidney Bechet, just cut two choices (“Celebrities Fell On Alabama” and “Blues”) like a innovator (in 1946 for Personal) but made an appearance on many information as a trusted sideman.
