Dave Barnes

Although given birth to in SC, singer/songwriter Dave Barnes spent the majority of his child years in Mississippi, where he formed an early on attachment to hip-hop but was also subjected to traditional spirit, blues, and R&B by his parents. He later on enrolled at Middle Tennessee Condition University and started writing tunes for other performers. Barnes also performed solo displays on campus, and by enough time he graduated having a level in recording market management, he’d made a decision to pursue his personal music profession. Barnes transferred to Nashville, Tennessee, and gravitated toward the city’s acoustic folk picture. The desire to create even more groove-oriented music confident him to put together a full music group, though, and he do so with the addition of Justin Rosolino on electric guitar, Matt Mangano on bass, Ben Shive on keyboards, and Josh Robinson on drums. Barnes’ soulful pop music gained him the support of performers like John Mayer (his labelmate on Aware Information), as the religious build of his lyrics gained some support in the Christian music picture. He continued to be on Aware’s roster for just two albums — 2004’s Sibling, Bring sunlight and 2006’s Chasing Mississippi, both made by Ed Money — before shifting to Razor & Connect for 2008’s Me so you and the Globe and 2010’s What WE WISH, What We Obtain. The latter record became a shock Christian strike, debuting in the very best Five in the Christian graphs and paving just how for any occasion album, Extremely Merry Xmas, which followed afterwards that year. Tales to Tell made an appearance early in 2012.
