Darker My Love

The L.A.-structured psych-rock quartet Darker My Love was shaped by senior high school buddies Tim Presley (guitars, vocals) and Andy Granelli (drums) in 2001. Originally, it had been a side task — Presley and Granelli had been playing in various other punk-influenced rings (both played within the Nerve Agencies jointly, Granelli also spent period using the Distillers) if they became a member of causes with bassist/vocalist Rob Barbato and guitarist Jared Everett, both transplants from Boston. Within the area of some superb live gigs, though, all players focused on nurturing that which was to become signature bright-but-brooding audio, and Darker My Like, as a good unit with main potential, was created. Following a string of starting times for the Kills, the Warlocks, and Icarus Collection, the band documented a three-song EP released in early 2006; early compliment called focus on Presley’s melancholic vocals similar to Robert Smith. A self-titled debut disk filled with fuzz and trippy distortion adopted later exactly the same 12 months on Dangerbird Information. In 2008 the music group released their second recording, 2, acquiring their audio to darker and fuzzier locations. While touring for 2, Andy Granelli remaining the band to spotlight his family members and was changed by Brian Jonestown Massacre drummer Dan Allaire. Their third recording, Alive when you are, premiered in 2010.
