Dark Ducks

A man vocal quartet formed in December 1951 in Tokyo, Japan, by past members of the college performing group, comprising Hiroshi Takamizawa (b. 9 November 1933, Shizuoka, Japan; 1st tenor), Tôru Sasaki (b. 18 Feb 1932, Fukushima, Japan; second tenor), Tetsu Kihayâ (b. 8 November 1930, Tokyo, Japan; baritone) and Hajime Tôyama (b. 26 Might 1930, Tokyo, Japan; bass). Created because the first jazz vocal quartet in Japan, they authorized with Teichiku Information in 1956 and energetically and progressively extended their repertoire, incorporating Russian folk-songs, Japanese kids’s tunes, Negro spirituals and well-known songs generally, mainly because illustrated by such strikes mainly because ‘Kachusha’, ‘Yamaotokono Uta’ (‘Music OF THE Mountaineer’), ‘Yukiyama Sanka’ (‘Ode TO SOME Snowy Hill’), ‘Gin’irono Michi’ (‘Silvery Street’) and ‘Suzuran’ (‘Lily-Of-The-Valley’).
