Dark Captain Light Captain

Dark Captain Light Captain create textured, folk-inspired pop/rock and roll that combines pastoral psychedelia with digital elements. Hailing from East London, the music group formed through the winter season of 2006, when founders Dan Carney (acoustic guitar, vocals) and Neil Kleiner (consumer electronics, vocals) launched some late-night recording classes around Kleiner’s laptop computer. After uploading the ensuing tracks onto MySpace, both were asked to execute on Seven Sisters, the debut recording by German designer Milenasong. Carney and Kleiner after that returned with their personal task, fleshing out their lineup with Giles Littleford (acoustic guitar, vocals), Chin Keeler (drums), Laura Copsey (brass, vocals), and Michael Cranny (bass, vocals). Crafting atmospheric music that evoked Elliott Smith, the Beta Music group, and Celebrities of Monitor and Field within the same breathing, Dark Captain Light Captain released the Circles EP in August 2008 to preface their standard debut, Wonder Kicker.
