Darcy James Argue

Darcy Adam Argue is a Brooklyn-based jazz composer and bandleader. He’s most widely known for his use his 18-piece Key Culture ensemble, which combines big-band jazz, post-rock, and traditional minimalism. Argue was created in Vancouver, English Columbia in 1975. He relocated to america in 2000 and analyzed under jazz composer Bob Brookmeyer at the brand new Britain Conservatory of Music in Boston. He relocated to Brooklyn in 2003 and created Secret Culture in 2005. The group’s debut recording, Infernal Machines, arrived in ’09 2009; it received a Grammy nomination for Greatest Large Jazz Outfit Recording and a Juno nomination for Modern Jazz Recording of the entire year. In 2016, Key Culture released their third recording, Real Opponents, which also gained a Grammy nomination and strike quantity 21 on Billboard’s Jazz Albums graph.
