The winner from the 2007 Prix Constantin award, Daphné is a France pop singer with an alternative solution style sometimes likened to Kate Bush, Camille, or Björk. Blessed in Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme, France, she produced her full-length record debut in 2005 with L’Émeraude over the label V2 Music. Interweaving orchestral agreements with digital flourishes and trip-hop beats, L’Émeraude was a humble achievement, spawning the one “L’Insoumise” and achieving number 115 for the French albums graph. The follow-up record, Carmin (2007), was a very much greater achievement for Daphné, specifically with regards to critical acclaim.
