Daniel Sandén-Warg

Daniel Sanden-Warg was only 15 when he began performing within a fiddle duo with senior high school friend Magnus Stinnerbom. In the 10 years since, the Swedish duo is continuing to grow into what www.greenmanreview.com called “a distinctive blend of development, energy, and a little bit of attitude.” Warg and Stinnerbom 1st attracted attention if they performed the soundtrack of an area creation of Hamlet in 1996. Their self-produced debut Compact disc was released the next year. Using the North American launch of their 2000 recording Must, offering the accompaniment of Hedningarna percussionist Bjorn Tollin and Vasen guitarist Roger Tallroth, the duo’s music transcended the edges of their homeland. Warg takes on viola d’amour, a musical instrument with four playing strings and four resonating strings like the Norwegian hardinfele, Jew’s Harp, and moraharpa, a historical type of the nykelharpa.
