The music group was founded by vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Daniel Ellsworth, who was simply born and elevated in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ellsworth relocated to Nashville, Tennessee hoping of launching a profession in music, and after self-releasing a single album, he released an EP in 2008 beneath the group name Daniel Ellsworth & the fantastic Lakes.
