Delivered in Toronto, Hill can be an unabashedly sentimental vocalist/songwriter. As an adolescent, Hill was a significant enthusiast of vocalists like Frank Sinatra. He became well-known in Canada, and his debut record premiered in 1975. In 1977, he co-wrote the extremely emotional “Occasionally When We Contact” with Barry Mann, and it became a high Ten smash within the U.S. Following a few less hits, he apparently disappeared, but installed a return in 1987, credit scoring another TOP strike with “Can’t We Try,” a duet with Vonda Sheppard. He provides charted several times on Billboard’s adult modern chart since that time.
