Dan Castellaneta

The voice of cartoon icon Homer Simpson, actor/singer Dan Castellaneta was created in Oak Park, IL in 1958; after learning art at North Illinois University or college, he switched his focus on acting, showing up in productions of the Midsummer Night’s Desire as well as the Taming from the Shrew before becoming a member of Chicago’s famed Second Town humor improv troupe in 1983. Four years later on, he became a member of the cast from the FOX tv sketch humor series The Tracey Ullman Display; when cartoonist Matt Groening produced his cartoon dysfunctional family members the Simpsons to surface in brief “bumper” sections round the show’s advertisements, Castellaneta was solid to lend the tone of voice of father Homer, so when the character types were later on spun off to their personal long-running and greatly well-known series, an icon was created.
