The moody, indie rock troupe Dame Destiny came jointly in 1999. Yalan Papillion (vocals/bass) acquired still left her Ohio-based rings — Shanghai Lily, Avec des Papillions, Miss Might 66 — behind for the town of Washington D.C. She fulfilled up with ex-Tuscadero guitarist Melissa Farris and a camaraderie was born. Jointly they produced the psychedelic trip-hop noises of Dame Destiny. Drummer Speck was an integral part of the musical fray by the finish of that calendar year; shared schedules with famous brands Lungfish, Tristeza, the Lilys, Music: Ohia, and His Name Is normally Alive soon implemented. Dame Fate’s debut record, Period and Tide Await No Man, premiered on Lovitt in springtime 2002.
