Dalton & Dubarri

Bassist, guitarist and clarinet participant and vocalist Gary Dalton joined up with with percussionist/vocalist Kent DuBarri to create the soulful, blues-influenced group, Dalton and DuBarri in the mid-1970s. The group’s sound was improved by the current presence of Hammond B-3 organist Rick Allen, who experienced previously caused southern California-based pop group, Blue Rose. Authorized by CBS – Sony in 1973, Dalton and DuBarri didn’t surpass anticipations. Although they opened up displays for Loggins and Messina, the Doobie Brothers, Dave Mason, Pole Stewart, Boz Scaggs, Elvin Bishop as well as the Seaside Boys, they by no means increased to headliner position. Dropped by CBS — Sony after their 1st two albums, Dalton & DuBarri in 1973 and Great Mind in 1974, were not able to supply a commercial discovery, Dalton & DuBarri continued to record for ABC and Hilltak — Atlantic.
