Dakrya were created in Athens, Greece, in late 2004, when classically trained key pad participant Sophia X (aka Sophia Charalampous) made a decision to combine a slew of disparate music influences (rock, goth, progressive, symphonic, and artwork rock) having a theatrical demonstration. And in addition, this experimentation necessitated many demos, numerous staff changes, limitless rehearsals, and several a live show to become hammered into form — but, by 2008, it led to Dakrya’s debut recording, Monumento, which received very much praise because of its extremely unusual yet cautiously conceived musical idea. Greater touring possibilities adopted, but Sophia X and her bandmates — operatic vocalist Thomais Chatzigianni (ex-Insidius Infernus), rock and roll vocalist Christina Kalantzi, guitarist/vocalist George Droulias, guitarist Angelos Charogiannis, bassist Alex Drake, and drummer Stavros Vorissis — had been soon hard at the job on Dakrya’s a lot more ambitious sophomore recording, Crime Scene, that was released to equivalent actions of acclaim and perplexity through Sensory Information this year 2010.
