Dag Nasty

Dag Nasty kept roaring D.C.-styled hardcore alive through the mid-’80s. Even though group was even more available and melodic than Small Threat, it by no means dropped its bracing, blistering advantage. Formed by previous Small Threat and Meatmen guitarist Brian Baker and ex-DYS vocalist Dave Smalley, Dag Nasty documented their first recording, Can I State (1986), with D.C.-punk expert Ian MacKaye assisting around the production. The next year, Smalley remaining the group; he was changed by Peter Cortner, who added even more pop elements towards the band’s audio. Dag Nasty relocated from MacKaye’s Dischord label to Large in 1988, liberating their last recording from the ’80s, Field Day time. Along with previous Big Young man Chris Gates, Baker created the metal music group Junkyard in 1989, which released two information on Geffen before fading aside. Dag Nasty returned collectively in 1992, liberating Four on to the floor for the developing underground punk picture that was just a few brief years from breaking in to the mainstream. The response was enthusiastic, however the music group stepped from the business once again. Ten years later on, they reunited using the emo-rock contact to hands Minority of 1 and released it on Revelation Information.
